James Wilson
Registered Home Inspector (RHI)
“I inspect every home as if my own family were moving in. That standard never changes — regardless of price, condition, or how close you are to closing.”
Our Story
Before I picked up a flashlight and a moisture meter, I spent a decade as a licensed general contractor and building code officer in Toronto. I built homes from the ground up. I worked alongside every trade. I learned, the hard way, exactly where corners get cut — and how much it costs the people who end up living with those corners.
I started True North in 2012 because I kept seeing the same thing: buyers spending $800K, $1.2M, $1.8M on a home, then getting a cursory 90-minute walkthrough and a boilerplate PDF. That report wasn't protecting them. It was protecting the inspector. I knew I could do better — and that homebuyers deserved better.
Today, every True North inspection runs 2.5 to 4+ hours. Every report has photos. Every client gets a walkthrough on-site. We've completed over 500 inspections across the GTA without a single unresolved complaint, and our 4.9-star Google rating reflects something we're genuinely proud of: we do what we say we'll do, every single time.
